AR15 reliability

Thnx all, my question answered kinda :) thnx for good posts as to linking to some good writings here and possible issues. But don't you find kinda odd that there are some many possible causes for gun to cause problems?
Share which AR15 do you use.
As for me, I have possible hints to look into, but I know that it is major issue for sure, as maybe brand new rifle and needs break in or maybe new mags, maybe myself :), maybe just bad day.

So what AR15 are you using? You still havent answered. Do you even own one?

I have a LMT MRP CQB DI model and it eats anything I can find to feed it. I have yet to see it jam one time even over long periods of use and high round counts between cleanings. I think any gun can jam, the ar15 platform has proven itself time and again. I think the reason a lot of people love it is sometimes a rifle just feels right in your hands and the bullets go where you want them to easier than others. For me my AR is that kind of rifle. It's kind of like my 1911 .45 it kicks a lot more, seems less controllable than my 9mm cz shadow, is less accurate firing from a bench rest, but during an IPSC match I'm faster and more accurate with the .45 because it feels better.

Hope that helps,

It's a machine...if it's not operated correctly it won't work. All machines are like this. If any gun isn't working right, there are various parts and surfaces to check.

I don't understand why you say you have hints to look in to or that the gun needs breaking in. I thought you lubed it and it ran fine afterwards. What is the problem here? Operate your gun properly and it works.

I meant in the future if something goes wrong.

Denka, this thread of yours seems a little wishy washy to me… Your posts are all over the place and you have practically contradicted yourself.

I suggest you look up Pat Rogers and the 15,000 round AR. Supposedly, one of the AR’s they run in their courses has gone through 15,000 rounds with out any cleaning. You can find it on the Slip 2000 website.

I have a LMT MRP and from nearly bone dry to dripping wet it has never missed a beat.

It's 43 000+ rounds now. ;)

It's been used almost every day at training classes. The barrel/chamber have never been cleaned (still shoots 1.5" at 50 yards), one of the bolt lugs broke/cracked at 16 500 rounds IIRC and has been replaced (so the 2nd bolt by now probably has double what the first one had when it broke) and it's been cleaned only once or twice, minimally.
