During chambering of a round the bullet is scraped up quite a bit. It appears to be from the feed ramps/barrel extension?
I would like to know if others have seen this, and if you found that it affected accuracy at all, and what if anything you have done to fix it.

Gun is a Bushmaster 16" Heavy barrel XM15E2S, brand new. All Bushy.
Rounds are 55gr. Federal.

It appears the accuracy is ok, hitting head size steel plates at 250m with regularity with 4x scope.

IIRC, Bushmaster is known for making dremel-job feed ramps. Shouldn't affect accuracy since the scratch does not seem to ride on the lands/grooves, but I wouldn't use it for benchrest. :)

Smoothing out the burr will fix it.

I carry an Armalite 223. Rem at work and whenever I must chamber a round and do not fire it, It gets ejected and fired at the range. This is because it gets scraped all to hell during loading. I have found, however, that accuracy does not appear to be diminshed. FYI

Thanks for the info guys. The ramps are not a dremel job, and I don't want to #### around with doing that myself. I guess it will smooth out a bit with a few more thousand rounds.

Greentips: thats a very good point, I never thought about it scratching on the way out, I always thought it was on the way in.
