Hello gunnutz !

I just found this beauty (thanks Youtube and Google). Wondering if its legal here (I assume, but we never know...) as I haven't seen any store selling these around.

Anyone know if it is legal or not ?

Why wouldn't it be? It's just an accessory. It allows you to charge your AR from a position more to the front and side of the rifle. Firearms and weapons / devices are either restricted, non restricted or prohibited. That device doesn't turn your rifle into something different

Well you know, in Canada, if we were to put silencers on any of our firearms we'd all go on a frenzy killing spree @ 0 decibels. We can't just stand it... that's why they are prohibited

Maybe this device will make our AR15 in super-killer machine guns... and for our safety, they would have prohibited it too

I saw something similar a few years ago, and thought it was a neat idea, but it looked less refined. This one actually doesn't look too bad. Don't think I'd stake my life on it, but for a range toy, why not. I've always preferred the charging design on my XCRs over the AR15 design.

Personally Id rather just buy a side charging upper, actually thats what I did do when I bought my Gibbz arms side charging upper. Its $110 more, but its a complete upper and doesn't have all the external excess to make it side charging

With you on that one. 150$ U.S. +extra bulk and weight. Buy a side charge upper. Cool idea @ 50$ though.

^^^ yeah, those ASA side-charging uppers have been around for a while. I've always been tempted. The replacement charging handle on a standard upper is something I'd be more likely to try, though, both as it's cheaper and as I can keep my higher-quality OEM upper parts (aside from the factory charging handle)

The one I have uses any standard bcg, the only thing is you swap out the cam pin for the one that comes with the upper. if your willing to spend $160 on parts that have to be installed to make your upper side charging. I don't see why you wouldn't spend $110 more and just swap uppwers for a complete upper that's already side charging. And I'm sure there is cheaper options then the brand I bought. Personal preference but I would not want all the external mess on my upper, I'm happy with what I bought. As with a lot of my firearm purchases they are just toys and not needed by any means
