I ordered a couple of A1 hand guards, an A1 buttstock, a couple magazine spoons, and a M14 bandolier from Numrich Gun Parts(plus a couple of minor other things). On their site, they say they ship to Canada, and when I placed the order through their site, all of the order was accepted for shipment. The total was well under $100 USD.

I call them today to inquire about the order, as when I check status online, they said it was cancelled? WTF??:confused:

The answers I got from Maria (very nice lady btw) were that "we can't ship AR 15, M16, or M14 parts to Canada. They're a restricted platform so we can't ship them".

She said this was due to Canadian government regulations. I explained that these parts were for a legally-owned and registered AR15, but that made no difference.

Has anyone else heard this or run into this problem? I mean, I've ordered handgun and AR rifle parts from Brownells in the recent past and there was no issue.

Maybe try calling back and hopefully get someone else on the line. She may be confused...those are just parts, you don't even need a PAL to buy those here...

Oooooorrr, the queens cowboys have gone ahead and prohibited those too, now. Who knows, it's becoming difficult to stay current on all the secret laws being dreamed up lately. :(

There is a similar situation for M14-style rifle fans. Almost all U.S. companies who used to export parts will not ship anymore.BUT, they can ship almost identical parts if they label them as M1A parts instead of M14. Weird.

It could just be their policy.

It is. There's a bunch of other benign crap they won't ship either. It's a mix between them being over cautious and ITAR being retarded.
Try ordering a collapsible stock from them for any platform and see how it goes!
I got 3 different answers from 3 different people:
-It's our policy
-We're not allowed to export them
-Canada won't allow you to import them

its their policy

I tried same thing ar15 parts and m1 carbine parts they said "if they part COULD be used in a FA they cant export" so any ar15/m1 carbine or m14 part is a NO GO

Yupe happened to me a year ago I tried to order the detent for a dust cover on an ar15, she told me since it is for an "assault rifle" it's a no go.

Basically, any firearm, or parts thereof, on the U.S. State Dept "assault rifle" list can't be exported (without a permit, which they won't bother getting). Their federal gov't rules not ours. Unfortunately includes M1 carbines too. Used to get M1 carbine parts from them all the time.

Nothing to do with F/A capability, much like our OIC Prohib list. Been in force for more than 8 years at least.

I tried to explain to Marian that it was AR-15 parts, not M16. "Modern sporting rifles" aren't on the "assault rifle" list.

The way she explained it to me, it was OUR government's rules/regulations, not theirs.

Oh, for the good 'ol days back in the 80's when there was still SOME common sense in government and bureaucracy.
