Well I got sick of the classic spring held scope mount and rail soo I ordered a new rail and a see through riser and went to work....

Got to get me a railed hanguard now too. There are 6-8/32 screws holding up through the bottom, the rail is tapped. Seems very stable but only time will tell.

I did the exact same thing, but had my steel rail welded to the upper.
I'd like to see pics of the underside. Good job again!! (Nice equipment)

It had to come apart at the end to make sure that the operating rod didn't hit anything when it cycled. All is good, I will get more pics tomorrow or thursday!

She shoots about 3 moa at 100 yards, Im a little dissapointed was hoping for 2. Im going to try switching ammo, it was 55g umc remington FMJ

Well guys finally got my camera back from the wife and took a couple more pics, better late then never I suppose. The gun is due for cleaning but not as dirty as the pics make it look. Note the red locktite around the screws. Also photobucket took about 10minutes just to load the login screen!

The original scope mount isn't fixed... it's under spring tension and if you ever play with one you'll see that you can move it around in it's "fixed" position (not good).

It's ok for short range stuff (RDS is perfect for it), but if you are trying to sight a scope in for longer distances, forget about it.

Does this apply to the stormwerkz rail as well? Some pictures illustrating how the stormwerkz rail actually secures to the mounting plate would be very informative. Thanks!

The factory "wedge" mount thinger actually tightens up the more you shoot.

Movement was often because of loose welds on the mounting plate.

can you take the sight out of the housing in order to see through say an eotech or aimpoint?

You don't need to remove the iron sights to see through Eotech or Aimpoint, they sit high enough.
