AR180B tactical forearm

Hi there, I just installed my new Midwest Ind. forearm from Wolverine Suppl. now it was quite easy but my question is.. do you have to cut off 5/16" from the operating rod as the instructions indicate? Will it affect the operation of the rifle if I don't?

The reason you cut the ends off the recoil spring guide rods off is so they don't protrude out the end of the front receiver trunnion. It does not effect the function of the rifle.

thank you Armadesk, I thought it might be you that answered my question. BTW the AR180 looks awesome with the new rail, can you recommend a decent optic for me for 100 yds not too expensive mostly target shooting and prob some coyote hunting. Thanks again!
