I'm not expecting the Tavor or XCR to be available for at least a year, so in the meantime I need something to fill the gap. I'd like to hear from people who have had a chance to use both the 180b and 858 and which you found to be more accurate. I'm not overly concerned about ammo price difference, just accuracy, reliability, and ergonomic design. I'm thinking the 180b might come out on top for all these criteria. Thanks.

I own both. The 180B is more accurate. Not surprising. Not that the 858 isn't accurate mind you, it ain't no sks like the 180 ain't no mini-14

Finally someone has said it the way it should be said, and I love my VZ!

Not to hijack this thread but since when are we going to see tavors on the market?

The 180b is is non-restricted right? And if so what are the differences between it and the AR-15. If its almost as good I think my wallet might loose some weight.....

I personally like the cz858 better. Cheaper ammo. There are more add ons for the 180b, but both will need extras for an optics mount (the 858 needs alot more). I shoot with irons, so i would go with the 858

Worse or better? I'd like one if its a non either way but it'd be nice to know...
The AR180B is NOT a cheaper, non-restricted AR15. Thinking it is will only lead to disapointmen.

The AR180B IS a great little non-restricted, piston operated, utility rifle in .223. More and more after-market modifcations are becoming available for it.

I'd go for the AR180B if I only had to choose one, but If your going to get an XCR later anyway then get the CZ. Wide varitey is always nice.

You know - the Cz should shoot very well with GOOD ammo - with the milled receiver and decent barrel, logic tells me that it would be a delightfully tight grouper!

Get some lapua 7.62X39 before you discount the VZ in the accuracy department. I bet even a 180B with crappy manufactured ammo with loose tolerances wouldnt shoot so great either. Not to mention VZ sights dont scream accuracy.

I get great accuracy out of my CZ with the Chech milsurp stuff. I should try some bell SP and see what it's like.

Well I've decided to go with the VZ858. I figure I'll be content with a VZ858 and my M305 (w/soon to have DaveGP stock) until the XCR becomes available. Thanks guys.
