So I bought an Industry Brand AR2078A a long time ago, before the end of the LGR. I love the gun, shoots straight and is nice and accurate, but it lacks the punch to take down Squirrels on my deck. Now that the LGR is gone, is it legal to modify it to shoot more than 500FPS? I have my PAL and a pile of .22's, but I'd rather use this so I don't put holes in the deck railing and bug the neighbors with the noise. There used to be alot of mods for this gun, but I couldn't get them in Canada because of our goofy laws. Have things changed? I gave up on airguns and stuck with .22's because of this, and I'd love to bring out my AR2078 again 'cause it's such a sweet shooter!

My non-legal guess is: yes you can modify it, but it becomes a 'firearm' and subject to all the storage, transport and use laws of any firearm. Depending on dimensions and all the convoluted laws, there could be a risk of you creating a "restricted" or (*shudder*) prohibited.

I've got my PAL and I already keep it with my "firearms" The forum has alot of good info, I found some sources for valves that have already been modified, but they don't ship to Canada. I'll hunt down the info on the net and see what I can do without a lathe.
