Guys ive ran out of AR2207 which i use in the 222 and the 375 BB , wanting to load up a good dozen of rounds for the 375 with the 245gr Cast boolits i have been using, but have a Bottle of AR2206H (imr/H 4895 equiv)

Any body got any thoughts on using this , will it even work, is it a good idea LOL- no i done some research and ongoing.

otherwise i have Bulk VARGET AR2208 .......... but it might be too slow? while 2206H isnt much 'faster' at all though.

at worst case i am heading to big smoke in coming weeks ..... ? stick with 07 ?

pleasure guys, thanks

Question for those with Quick load perhaps?

current load is 28gr-30 gr of AR2207 / 4198 245gr Cast..............

How much GR of AR2206H / 4895 with 245gr Cast would be needed to have similiar Velocitys- EST around 1800fps ????

Also found some 38-55 Data with the 2206H - so thats a start, How many more Grains do you think can be put in before getting Full Case Capicity-

Currently put 33.5 GR and its Compressed enough i rekon???

any help, can explain if any questions on the above info.

Thanks!

From my Calculations roughly, the 33.5 Gr Load of 2206H "in a 24 inch barrel 38-55)" would be roughly in the 2000 FPS range ------- >

my 28-30gr 2207 Load would be around also 2000 fps ? (i always used 255gr data mistakenly actually and estimated a 1800-1850 FPS for my 245, however lookin at 250gr with 2207 it says 250 GR. LYMAN CAST AR2207 .376" 2.500" 18.5 grain 1408 fps 17100 cup 24.0 grain 1740 fps 26200 cup

ive just been deviding the fps with the grains to get roughly an estimate for other charges... hence around 2000 fps with all the above info in a 24 inch gun, mine indeed 20 inches -but can knock a few fps off end number for guestimates.

i have to crimp at the crimp line on the FN Cast projies as the next line down would be a lube groove and the round wont chamber from the magazine -

Thoughts on Compressed? load in 38-55/375 BB 33.5gr

never had a compressed load before-

After shooting the 33.5 Gr 2206h load the Recoil was much more of a push than a Sharp snap the 2207 normally gives! i am liking this choice of slower powder but would luve to hear from more experienced users , an touch more on compressed loading--- doesnt seem super duper compressed but its not much noise of powder moving when shaken...

WL, I favor H322 [ADI 2219] in my 38-55. It gives stellar accuracy, and great speeds
at sane pressures. But I only use it behind the 255 Jacketed bullet.
For cast, I am using Norma 200, [closest ADI powder is AR2207] and it works great with
cast bullets from 240-285 grains. Dave.

Lyman 49th; Universal Receiver; 30" barrel:

#375248 #2 alloy, sized .379"

IMR4198 - Start 24.0 gr (1497 fps/16,700 CUP) Max 25.8 gr (1719 fps/25,800 CUP)
IMR3031 - 27.0 gr (1419 fps/18,500 CUP) Max 30.0 gr (1719 fps/27,500 CUP)
IMR4895 - 31.0 gr (1408 fps/16,300 CUP) Max 35.0 gr (Compressed 1752 fps/27,700 CUP)

Start load of 4198 gave best accuracy

i poached some info from another forum via google seasrch. :D im happy with that. except the PRessure reading,,,, the max load being like 27,500 CUP..... the BigBore is like a 50,000CUP rated cartridge!!! plus its a 30 inch barrel.................... whoa.

im doin my head in with all the comparing of notes and data numbers etc. :D :p

see yas soon with a verdict.

just to close this thread-

compressed full case of 2206H aka imr4895 was NOT accurate at 100m, seemed to throw one out of 3 way out....
il stick with an continue loading AR2207
