I've had an AR 7 for years but never did anything with it including firing it.
As I tried to put it together I found the reciever extremly hard to get out of the stock, to the point I had to get a pair of pliers to extract it. Am I missing something here? There's no way it should be that tough to get out should it?
thanks

Sometimes they can be tough to get out. Take the butt cover off and strike it downwards on a solid surface opening down. The enertia should be enough.

.. The Butt is foam filled with a coating over it, and sometimes the foam separates from the inside walls of the Butt itself. Expansion can occur, and with age, perhaps a degree of deterioration has occurred, causing the foam to expand enough to jam things in place ( Bolt knob being extended, and catching the foam cut-outs is another possibility ).. Mine was very stiff right from date of purchase back in 86. It much looser now from use.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I did find that with the magazine, one way was tighter than the other.

I haven't even opened that gun in about 10 years.....might have to now though to see if mine is tight again.

Cheers,
J
