Arak-21 xrs

theres another thread, a more cent one (not sure where, maybe a dealer section) - i just posted there maybe a week ago.

long and short is a bunch of people asked about non restricted crap that i ignored - heres the pertinent info...

so are they here? no
is there an frt? yes, refer to ar15
are the uppers here? not yet
will they be here? yes (either a dealer will bring them in or folks will use import services such as quester or IRG)

PS: someone may have said they were designing a new lower for it, don't hold your breath cuz as long as it mates to AR15... its restricted.

This is the most recent thread on it right now:

Looks like right now a couple "maybe" companies as far as bringing the upper in.

As far as it goes though, it's just an upper, so there is no chance for it being bolted onto a non-restricted lower. Considering FAXON doesn't actually have any experience with the RCMP, I would think zero chance in their "Canada-legal lower" doing anything other than costing more money. The entire gun would need to be redesigned (upper and lower) and not "based" on an AR15.

Interesting looking upper though, might actually be good quality and the caliber conversions look kind of enticing due to their price!

Putting the charging handle where it is ( including the ACR ) is not a good move. It interferes with the placement and manipulation of laser and light. It also limits how the wires are routed.

At least with the ADCOR the charging handle can be removed.

Hmmm... just read some interesting stuff on another forum. The manufacturer of the Arak-21, 'Faxon Arms' posted last year that they would submitting a "Canadian legal version" later this next (this) year for evaluation". This was along with some discussion about the Arak-21 basically being an upper on an standard AR lower. They said that they have the Arak-21 at the lab now...

I will take this as potentially good news, in the absence of bad news (of course) or versus no news at all.

Oh, and there was talk of a .308 as well.

Finger crossed everyone...

the problem is that mericans are so in love with their ar15 they design everything under the sun to mate with an ar15
Us canadians we want something that has the ergonomics of an ar15 but doesnt mate in any way possible to an ar15

Very true. Im waiting for NEA's version of the AR180B2 to come out before buying another black rifle. It will be as close to a non res AR I will ever get. Assuming of course the next federal election goes our way.

i dunno about that, I'm waiting for the SBR version of the 7.62 upper - there is already a NR alternative with XCR if you don't mind front heavy

Fantastic upper. Quick swap barrels. Mine came with .223 / 300 blk / 7.62x39 kit that included a 7.62 bolt + pin. Little heavy.
Runs with XCR 7.62 10 round pistol mags.
Shooting it on a Tactical Innovation lower equipped with Hiperfire's hypertouch 24C trigger with the 7.62 spring for consistent primer percussion on bulk military type ammo.
A little gun####:
