I got an Archangel 10/22 stock from Mystic Precision. I was unaware of this stock until I went to a shoot with Jerry (Mystic) and blasted some .22 last December. In a word, I was amazed. It was a hoot to shoot, but more over, an extremely steady and easy to shoot platform.
I decided to take a good shooting 10/22 traditional stock system and try out the AR chassis. Mine has VQ parts, and a green mountain fluted barrel - so it was pretty accurate at the start. After the simple installation of the action to stock, I mounted a 4 - 10 scope. At the range, after about 3 sighting shots - I was well on my way to ragged one holes at 25 yards, and groups that could be covered with a quarter at 50. Notably, I was busting clay pigeons (and then the shards of clays) at 100 yards with ease.
The main reason that I made the switch was for my son (8) to try using the 10/22. The 6 position stock allows him to shorten the stock to a comfortable length so the rifle fits him. It's a blast to watch the look on his face when he is hitting clays at 50 yards. That is worth the price alone.
The rails allow for standard AR type gear. I have a 200 lumen LED surefire flashlight mounted for our unwelcome 4 legged guests that occasionally try to take our chickens (racoons and Coyote) . Another very viable use for this platform of .22
Overall, I am very happy with this conversion and would recommend it without terms. I'm looking for smaller mag options for rabbit hunting applications. So far I'm considering glueing two OEM 10 round mags together so that it clears the mag well, but that's another post.
The only downside is that I've gone through my CCi minimag .22 ammo like poop through a goose.
