Archery Hunting for Moose

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about trying moose hunting during the archery season. What I'd like to know is what part of the archery season tends to be better for both bulls and cows? Would it be better at the beginning of the season or closer to the end before the gun season?

Traditionally the last week of September has been the best bet for calling rutting bulls... but the past few seasons have been hot and dry and there was better daylight activity during the first week of October. I would wait until after September 25th if I were you... we are going up on October 2nd.

I would almost completely mirror Hoyts statement. In Sask, we have 4 days of archery season on a regular tag that opens before the draw gun season. It CAN be the best time to call if the weather co-operates, but hard to say.
