Are any tactical semis marked with 3-1/2 inch chambers?

I think you guys meant the R12, great suggestion.... totally forgot that gun existed. Unfortunately it seems to be unobtanium.

Versamax Tactical is 22", and marked for 3" shells.

Pretty sure Tactical Ordnance can shorten it if you wanted to go that direction.

Officially the gun is 3" but Remington confirmed that it is a 3.5" gun (they issued an official statement confirming it is 3.5") and I'm 99.9% sure I have seen shotguns built by Tactical Ordnance with the 3.5" marking added.

I guess that becomes a bit of a gray area as far as legal ammo capacity is concerned? Is it limited to what's marked on the barrel, or the actual measured size of the chamber? If its the former, I'm guessing simply etching in a bigger number doesn't satisfy the requirements of the bureaucrats in charge - they probably want factory markings.

My thought is that shotgun tube magazine capacity is inherently so limited that I'd rather have room for another shell or two than load super magnum whatevers. I mean, how much more power do you need than is inherent in a 12 G... and also, do you really want to take the recoil beating for nothing?

There was some controversy about this a couple of years ago, the "sporting" Versamax's were stamped 3.5 inch, the competition ones were stamped 3 inch - the receivers were the same. The "Police gun" - yes it was the R12 - was available in 18.5 and 14 inch, and was stamped 3.5 inch if I recall correctly. Tac Ord used to have info on file from Remington that the gun was a 3.5 inch. The last new one I saw for sale was sold by Marstar earlier this year.

Yeah I remember that, I had a Versamax Tactical early on when they just came out. The issue really is what the barrel stamp says, not what physical size the chamber is, I believe.
