Most likely a dumb ass question, but I am not familar with ordering parts for the AR-15 up through the states.

I do know, most if not all M1A/M14 parts require a permit to import. Was curious if the same applies to AR-15/M-16 parts.

Cheers,

It depends on what you are looking for. Something like an A1 butt stock screw or a Colt-other bushing does not need a permit. ( I know because my Brownells order came in yesterday with those items), but other parts do.

Frames, barrels, sights, flash eliminators and a few other parts will not make it through unless the guy at the other end is sending to an importer on this end following the end user rules, or he is doing something else.

The dealers here on the site can get pretty much everything you want with some exceptions.

I appreciate the responses.

I was mostly thinking of furniture, A1 style handguards (triangular) and pistols grip. Going for that retro look.

Think I will try the EE forum first.

Thanks
