I had a brno years ago and it was very accurate paid I think $250
Bought it at Harkley and Haywood
Sold it for food
Now there CZ and $450 brand new for the American "Russells"
Seen a couple on the EE seem's thought the boy's don't want to part with em.
Are they worth the money?

I would say Yes (and IMO they could be sold for more $$). They are extremely well made, reliable, very smooth bolt, and most of all, very accurate at a good price. You do see the odd CZ in the EE, but most of the time they are close to the asking price - they hold retail value very well.

Yes very well made, very accurate, great triggers, usually very good sights come with all of the rifles. Many on the EE forum that I have seen have had the factory peep sights removed, and likely sold off, therefore in my opinion making the gun alot less valuable, most all the sellers don't see it that way? The next step up in a good quality .22 is Anshutz and now your into the $1000.00 range

Brno's

I got my Brno#4 off another CGNer...

The couple on the EE now are over priced comared to what I got mine for...

Even at the price they are asking... definately worth every penny...

The most accurate .22 I've ever fired... and I'm a bit curious about how well it would do out to 100m.... but I haven't tried it out that far...

The quality is fantastic too... and modern CZ 452 magazines fit the old Brno's so you can always add to the mag collection...

Go for it if you can find one.

Does a bear *** in the woods?
Is the Pope catholic?
Does King Kong have a big banana??

Heck yeah, brnos are accurate!! :D

For the record, mine does well out to 100m, but the wind is problematic at that range with a .22 round, of course.

Build quality is fantastic, mine is better than my 1967 Savage 110 .270 Win rifle. Tight and smooth with very close tolerances.

Go check out the C/Z section at rimfirecentral for more opinions.

That being said, I agree with ebruder. I picked up a 1956 model 4 in good condition with complete peep sights and a patrige sight for $425 a while back. They come up fairly regularly around that price too.
