Yep machining differences is correct. Each of them were made for specific barrels. If you want it to fit correctly your going to need a gunsmith to make it work.
I am wondering if that is a good thing - sounds like you could carefully file the radius of the barrel where it pivots until it just closes. Of course you could just hand the parts over to a gunsmith and have it done. Be careful to choose a real gunsmith though.
Most of the time, it is not the radius that is the issue. The notch, where the ejector sits, is where the issue lies. If you can close the action, but not **** the hammer, the notch has to be deepened because the corresponding V in the receiver, actuated by the top-snap, has not been seated deep enough in the notch.
