Are flechettes legal to own?

I believe the loaded ammunition is prohibited. Unknown about the actual individual darts. All they are is Phillips headed finishing nails.
 
Shotgun ammunition loaded with flechettes is prohibited ammunition. That is the extent of the law.

It's legal to buy them separate but once you load them into a shotgun shell then you cross the line. It's funny. I understand the law but if you really think about it, many laws are just stating that since we as citizens can't behave properly we have to be restricted. I mean murder, stealing, etc., those laws are obvious and nobody can argue, but to say there is no way we would act responsibly if we owned this or that, I think we are being treated like children! The criminals are going to get their hands on whatever they want either way.
 
Becasue loaded in a 12 gauge with buffer to keep them seperated and more or less aligned to the bore axis, they don't slow down for soft body armor, not much short of a good hard plate stops them.......and most soft armor is worn by police:eek:
