Are IPSC memberships valid for a calendar year or a season year?

I just completed my BB course, and was wondering about the IPSC BC memberships. Are they valid from January-December of a year, or from the last provincial championship to the next?

Reason I ask is because I finished the BB course right after the provincial championship, and kinda think that it would suck to have the membership that came with the course only valid for a few months before I have to get a new one.

IPSC memberships

In Ontario, they run from Jan to Dec.. If you completed your BB course after Sept 1st in a given year, your first year membership goes from Sept to Dec of the following year.....(ie, up to 16 months)....

Dont know if BC has the same set of rules or not......

Congrats on completing your BB course.

Yes, but if you completed a BB course a few days into September and there were no available matches in between, you get screwed!

No matches in Ontario from Sept until Dec?

ummm...I screwed up the story, what I meant to say was I did my BB course just before Sept 1 (late August) and didn't get the 16 month membership that someone else would of gotten had they taken their course in early Sept.

There were no matches between my BB course and Sept 1, so I really had no benefit to the membership, other than being able to take the BB course. Yet IPSC ontario insisted that I needed to renew my membership in the following year.

This is me I suppose. I finished the course a week ago, and we filled out the membership form, but I don't know of any upcoming local matches. If that membership is only valid until the end of the year, I would basically lose out on that money. Now if its valid until the end of next year, or till the end of the 2012 season, that'd be perfect :)

I'm sure ipscbc membership coordinator would be the best to contact. we can only speculate.

I already did, just waiting on a reply now :) Just wanted to know if any CGNers had been in this situation in BC before.

I remembered the story. I was just curious if you were stilld:h:

I hate shooting indoors. I tend to be the guy who rejoins in April and disappears by October. I pay a penalty for joining late. Since on the balance of things I'm paying twice per month used than the new BB grad, I think IPSC Ontario should have one of them carry my range bag for me.

After all, I deserve to get value for my money...:D

I don't remember mentioning it before on CGN, but yes, it still holds a bitter spot for me.
