Are Redding Type S Bushing Dies worth it?

I am curious if these dies are worth the price? I am going to be reloading for 308 and am curious if my lee set will do me or if I should pony up the dough and get these bad boys. I am not competing...yet, but want to ensure the time I spend reloading is producing the most accurate ammo possible. If anyone has some experience with them compared to "normal" dies, please share your opinion.

Worth every penny. If you are using a few different types of brass you may also need a few extra bushings of different sizes. For example for .308 you may need a .333, .334 and .335 bushing depending on how thick your brass is and how much neck tension you want.

Are you guys using the nitride bushings? I will be using lapua and hornady brass so I will for sure have appropriate bushings. Has anyone compared a completed round using these dies vs a lesser die? Thanks

I've got bushing dies in .204, .223, 22/250,22/243 Middlested, .243, 7 mm STW, .308, .300 Win Mag, .300 RUM and .338 Edge. Some in neck, some FL, some in neck and FL, and some in SB FL.

In most cases I can size straighter cases with a good FL die than a neck bushing die. Ditto for FL bushing dies versus neck bushing dies. Fortunately I seldom pay anywhere near retail for the sets, and the seating die is worth it for the convenience.

I lose my cases to loose primer pockets before split necks.

If you are willing to do all the related steps to support the bushing neck sizer, Yes, this die can be very effective.

Outside neck turning and annealing become very important for this to work properly.

Neck turning and annealing are on the agenda as well. I want to assemble the pieces to support accuracy and brass life.

If your going to go as far as You can for brass life and accuracy then they are worth it. But realistically a Lee set will get You by aswell. I prefer Redding dies personally and as I see it as a one time investment I justify the cost
