Are the hi-point 9mm carbines worth trying?

I don't know about the Hi point but I just picked up a Chiappa M1 9mm and love it.
Comes with two 10 round Beretta mags and with the wood stock it looks so much better than the hi point.
Plus the chiappa was only $479 which isn't much more than the hi point.

I have Hipoint carbines in 9mm and 45acp. Zero malfunctions with either. The triggers are crappy, but yet the guns are still quite accurate.
Had a hi-point. Functioned great, love the irons. Downfall is its pistol counterpart is prohib so we are always limited to 5 rounders. Shot great and heck I don't mind the looks. They are reliable and have great customer service / warranty by the sounds of it too.
It all goes down to what you want to pay. I would rather be shooting a CZ Evo all day, tho thi hi-point would perform the same.

This is why i prefer the 45 over the 9mm. You can use the 45Hipoint pistol mags with 9 shots. We can't get the 9mm pistol mags in Canada.
Haven't tried converting mags for it.
Where did you buy your Chiappa, and does it run well and accurate?

Only had it for a few weeks but I did fire 7 boxes ( 350 rounds) and only had one failure to feed. Other than that it preformed flawlessly.
Could easily hit a zombie at 100 yards.
The 9mm Hi Point mag well is too narrow for 1911 mags. Unfortunately 9mm 1911 mags are just as wide as 45 mags, they just have 2 ridges crimped into them to make the inside narrower to hold the 9mm rounds securely. You can mod 1911 mags for the .45 acp hi point but it’s restricted in Canada anyway. I’ve been searching for other single stack 9mm mags that you could maybe mod the rifle for but haven’t found any yet. You cannot mod magazines to fit the rifle you need to mod the rifle to fit the magazines. Someone with a milking machine might be able to open up the mag well on the 9mm hi point to fit 1911 mags then you could use the 9mm magazines if you could get them to latch without modding the mag bodies.
I got the wood stocked model from SFRC for $450? about 2 years ago. Prices have gone up but it can be found for $450-500.
I think its good bang for your buck, uses a commonly available handgun magazine for 10 round fun, is NR and was the cheapest NR PCC by a mile before the Hipoint Carbine came out. Biggest downsides is that the design is faulty (magazines pointed straight up to feed means you can get FTF's more easily), and that its harder to mount accessories to it as it, but for $500 its a good rifle at its price point.

10-4 on the plastic sights. I've never had problems with them but plastic just seems and feels cheap.
As for the mags... Mine work great... 350 rounds down the pipe and only one FTF..
