My wife and daughter are planning to get their PAL then complete the RPAL. I have the old text books from 1998. Will these be okay for them to use for practice before taking the course or are the new texts full of new material? Thanks for any input.

As far as I am aware the course books have changed very little in content since then. You may want to glance at a new edition at a local store that sells them just to satisfy yourself. You can also download them for free on CGN, Newbie FAQ sticky I believe.

Here are the pdf versions from 2008 for you to compare, download or print if you have a lot of paper and ink...

Did you try to right click then choose "save link as"?
That should give you a dialogue box to choose where to save it.
If you have trouble with the usb drive then save it somewhere on your hard drive, then copy it over.

I found new links, tested them, and the files are available to copy. I thought I posted them in this thread, maybe they're in another.

These links work. They're slow as hell, but they work. You may (likely) end up on a terrorist watch list, for downloading these.
