Are the Russians and Chinese Left hand dominant?

It wasnt illegal, and had nothing to do with communism. All of Europe with the Prussian style public education system brainwashed the lefties to operate right handed until relatively recently.

Just remember my dad telling me he wasn't allow to be left handed. Coming close to the time the commies would fall, that all changed.

are you coming from one of those countries? there is a lot of things that were illegals at the time of the communism.

i had to register in every village or town i was visiting, so imagine about being more leftie than a communist lol .....

What country was that at? In ex USSR one had to be registered in a village/town/city where they lived as well as re-registering if they moved to another village/town/city. I don't remember anything about visiting. My relatives from couple of cities used to come and stay for 2-3 weeks every summer because we had nice resorts around my hometown. It was a family tradition. Every summer our house was packed full.

I have lived there for periods of time after the fall of communism, my entire family lives there, its my first language. The insistance on right handedness predates the communist takeover of Central Europe, as evidenced in my grandparents generation who were adults well before 1948. It comes from asinine superstions and was encoded into the transition to standardised "public", state run education systems before WW1. I suppose you could argue that if the state runs the school system and writes the curriculum that its "law" but thats weak. A curriculum isnt the same as a law, and as I said this attitude predated the CSSR, the first Slovak Republic *and* the first Czechoslovak Republic
