Are there any PPC Masters around??

I have shot PPC some 20 years ago at the Abbotsford Fish and Game Club. Has the course of fire changed in PPC since I shot the sport? Is it mainly done with semi-auto handguns now? Where is a good source for PPC targets, rule book, etc.?

My attitude is trigger time is good time. So it doesn't matter if I shoot IDPA, 3-gun, NRA match, etc. I just want to have the opportunity to shoot. With PPC it one be just one more thing I could practice or play with.

Hey there. I probably shot on the same line at Abby 20 years ago. They still shoot first Sunday of the month. Russell runs it now and Jay still hangs out. Same course of fire but I go very seldom now. Busy with life and shooting while moving.

Still going strong at the Marksmen Club here in my neck of the woods. They even held a course a few months ago for PPC certification. I'm too busy with IPSC but will end up going sooner or later.

We shoot a short version of a PPC match 90 rounds and my best day is 795 out of 900 but the 24 rounds at 50 yards, is tough. I am shooting a stock 586 I suppose a little better PPC rig would improve my scores a bit. The more I shoot the better the score and once in awhile I will get our best shooter to watch me during stages I'm struggling with. I shoot a 158 grain LSWC from Speer or Hornady with 3.6 grain of N320 I might try 3.3 when we start up again.

At my club there are 3 old farts (that are probably reading this right now) who still shoot PPC every Wednesday night. They also shoot IPSC with me every Monday night. Every so often I used to show up on a Wednesday with my shadow, just to throw brass at them, but I haven't really shot much. It seems like it's easy when you watch it, but it's far from easy when you do it. Even when I actually used a revolver I still sucked. It would take a LOT of practice for me to improve and I'm more focused on IPSC right now as it's fun and fast. PPC is fun, but it's not fast and it's the exact same thing, every single time..... IPSC is different every time. PPC is great for accuracy and trigger control practice though. Until I shot PPC with my shadow I didn't know how crappy my accuracy really was! Shooting with the revolver, didn't really improve things much either.
