Well I done been readin' the stickies and am ordering some parts to coincide with the arrival of my gun. Im looking to build her up as near to GI as possible eventually but starting with the basics.

I got a sadlak op spring guide, a new spring. There are no fit issues with the spring guides right?

Sourcing a stock next. Opinions welcome on where to go from there. (besides shoot it and inspect)

You are good to go !!! The only parts that i know of that are not compatible is the usgi or Sadlac gas piston in a Nork gas cylinder ,AS well as some Nork recievers dont like usgi bolts you will need to chek the head spacing.

Regarding the op rod spring guides... My fav canadian ones are the Marstar, Rauch Tactical, NEA, S&J, Magwedge units. You will be happy to use your existing Kommunist Zhinese Norinco-Plinko Pinko spring.

My fav American guide by far is the Sadlak guide only because it looks cool. Badger and Brookfield Precision units are also tacticool, but you gotta use a Wolffe Spring (I have a few) or a USGI spring or an M1A spring because the guides are a TAD bigger in diameter. We discuss this at great length at my clinics.

In short, use the Norc spring for Canadian made guides and use an American bought spring (I have these) for an American guide.

If you buy a guide from an unknown make or source, then merely slide it into the Norc spring. If it don't fit at all, PM me and I'll sell ya a Wolffe (sp?) spring for $ 11.00 mailed to ya. :D

Cheers,
Barney

Chinese pistons are a bit larger, my piston OD was .5 . New cylinder I bought ID was .5, spec piston OD is .497 IIRC

So an american piston will be a "sloppy" fit in a chinese cylinder. Will it work...probably

Ahh- thanks gents. Sadlak guide + tubb yankee spring from brownells sounds good. Thanks for the offer Hungry!

I wouldnt mind replacing the gas system + everything entirely with gi + throwing a fancy piston in it.

From what Ive read there are a million and a half other things I should do first though
