Are they coming for flintlocks, percussion and cap/ball pistols also

Yes, numerous modern muzzleloading pistols are affected.
Doubt that this was intended.
Doubt that the Gov't cares.

Fudds are just as much to blame, theres plenty of them at the range who hate handguns, and seethe at the sight of a modern rifle.

No. Fudds vote CPC. Blame those living in bubbles who voted PPC.

True but originals and reproductions are functionally the same and it's already ridiculous that they are treated completely differently.
Thousands of flintlock pistols are being banned/frozen by this government already.

No debate on that. It has always been horrible. I am so tired of our laws

Everyone says that, but in over 55 years of shooting that has been a rare occurrence for me. I have met people who profess to be gun owners who vote Liberal or NDP however, and if that isn't classic Fudd, I don't know what is. - dan

Yes its not about gang guns...it's about disarming the general public....so we can be like Ozzie land...where the cops are super cops...we the public...have no way of defending ourselves from the very government we put in power...keep all your firearm! Never give up your right to defend yourself...yes with a firearm if needed..as a last hope. The world hasn't changed that much! The people have got a lot softer over the year! 30 years ago ,the great people of Canada , wouldn't have put up, with this much bull####...but here we are
.half brain washed...and almost there..as far as "wanting" to give up our rights....they will try again...and again..until they succeed...where you and I have maybe 30-40 years to fight it...they have generations...to make it happen. Families have been in power for decades....just passing the " touch " from one generation to the next...
Just my two cents....

First of all, it's untrue that you can shoot an antique anywhere you can shoot a non-restricted firearm. It depends on the province you are in. Nova Scotia, for example, will not permit the discharge of antique revolvers in a wildlife habitat (which accordingly has been deemed anywhere outside of your home). These can only be legally discharged at a range. They are first and foremost considered to be handguns, even if not legally 'firearms' under the Firearms Act. This was explained to me by a provincial Department of Natural Resources Officer.

For the same reasoning, I predict antique firearms will eventually fall under the 'freeze'...that although they aren't firearms under the Act, they remain handguns, and therefore are subject to the ban. Once Poly realizes this they'll start harassing the government about it and that will be the end of it.

The saving grace is that none of these handguns are registered, aside from those having had antique status certifications prepared by the RCMP. Even then, they are tradeable, so one only needs to assert they have long since been sold or passed on to another individual.

Freeze or not...it all works out to what your going to give them! If you don't bow to there dictatorship...like we have for the last 20 years and counting...remember the first attempt at a gun registry....for some reason people though it was a good idea...well they must have...because there was a lot of guns registered! Not mine! But here we go again..." oh please don't take my gun...Mr government " and who the hell give them the right to take anything from us!!! nothing ...nota....if they do....shame on us!!
My guns belong where they are! With me! And that is where they will be staying....bring a pine box..when you come for them...
Cheers
Brian

2 million gun owners who can’t get along with each other vs 35 million non gun owners in Canada who don’t give a flying f about us. Who wins?

It's usually only after losing...that the person/ people realize...that it wasn't all BS, coming out of our mouths....who would have thought...
True story I grow up hunting and fishing, and help my dad run his trap lines in the winter.... every summer, my father would be looking for more areas to trap...and would ask cottages and land owner , with some saying yes..and so say how bad it was to trap an animal..etc..etc...come early spring the next year...the phone would start ringing " my road to my cottage is flooded...please come shot the beaver..etc..
Sorta the same thing here...if its only to there advantage...but usually it's too late...damage has been done already..

1000% correct. How many previously NR now prohib rifles will be tucked away..... hopefully with extra mags and ammo... I do recall a WW1 machine gun (I think it was a Lewis) being found inside the walls of an old home that hadn't had any renovations since the 1930s in London ontario a while back.

I recall Dave Tomlinson talking about the huge difference between the number of FN's that were imported and the number that were registered. And I personally knew quote a few farmers that didnt register anything when the long gun registry was still upon us. - dan
