I was just looking online for idea's on what to mount (if anything) on my new Marlin 444. I happened to see those Cabella's model specific scopes for marlin lever guns that are calibrated for the Leverevolution ammo. I haven't had a lot of luck using cheapo scopes on hard recoiling guns over the years, and at $99, this looks to be a cheapo scope.
Every tasco/bushnell other than the 3200/4200 lines all went wonky on my 300 win mag/338 win mag/ and I even had a hard time keeping zero with my Remmy 7600 in .30-06.
Anyone have any experience with these specific scopes?? Should I just keep looking??
If you don't recommend these, would a red dot type scope be decent on a short distance shooter like the .444???
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
