Do you build uppers that you don't even use???? If you are, you are an addict and need help!
Lol I am sitting here at my desk in work and buried underneath a pile of parts that has come in over the last few days....Ive gone wrong and need help..
It was cheaper when I use to drink
Not yet, but I can feel the clouds coming.
I put my first one together last year. At first it was just "I'll just get a lower receiver just to have one in my name." Didn't matter I couldn't afford to do it, but I had to mainline that receiver into a functioning rifle within 6mons.
Now I've gotten one and played with it, enjoyed the novelty, and already that voice has started again.
"You're real passion is distance. You should build a long range target AR."
Then I see the pictures thread and think, "wow those shorty CQB style rifles look good and neither your current a1 style or the not-even-built-yet long range rig would do that job well."
Again, I don't really have the money so I shuffle around the EE proposing to do unmoral acts for AR parts.

started with one AR
upgraded the upper to flatop - now have upper with handle sitting
upgraded grip, butt, handguards, YHM-Comp
so, need barrell, bolt, lower and trigger group. have the small parts for another AR.
And that's how the addiction feeds itself....those spare parts have voices, they say "build it, and it will fire"

I plead NOT GUILTY ....
I do NOT build AR uppers that I don't use.
However,
I do build AR 15 LOWERS that I don't use
Right now I have THREE AR 15 lowers,
and only one AR 15 upper,
AND NOW,
what with motorcycle season, and horse riding season, and bicycling season, and kayaking season,
I'VE GOT NO TIME TO SHOOT THEM.
PS: I am not even counting my new AR 10 / R25,
which I test fired 20 RDS when I got it,
but have not had time to shoot since I installed :
- an ACE ARFX Butt stock
- GG&G gas block front BUIS
- LARUE rear BUIS
- DPMS match trigger [ and my gawd, did that R25 ever need a new trigger ]
- my new home made single point Tactical sling
AND,
I need to test fire / sight it in with:
- the BUIS
- [2] different scopes in Leupold QRW rings
- [5] NEW plastic DPMS/R 25/AR 10 mags
- [7] different types of 7.62 NATO & .308 Win ammo
ALL THAT EXPENSIVE AR SH!T Siting in my gun safe, and no time to shoot it ....

maybe we should create a support group to meld our manias???
I'll trade you a couple of my lowers for one of your uppers???

i'd have to say im an addict
, i've got 12 ar's in the vault 11 of which rarely get range time. but on the bright side, three get interchanged consistently, as im now running a colt dlast armalite, ar's are like lego's for big kids.
on another bright side i've got lotsa spare parts, in the form of whole guns.
