I didn't look but safariland bought a bunch of decent sized companies lately. I was doing fun and interesting ballistic research with one of them when they got bought so now it's on hold. It might turn out to be awesome and open up a lot of opportunities but for the meantime it's boring.

merged with Maddox defence- battle belt I ordered from Canam was labeeled Maddox as well
 
Ares Armor was rebranded/renamed to American Weapons Components; either late in 2015 or early 2016.

I was in discussions with them over getting one of their plate carriers and then everything went radio silent. There's some interesting reading available through the magic of google on FBI raids, replacement of the CEO, and some back and forth on the legal battles and issues they've had.
