This little bolt gun is in 9mm Bayard . Looks like 38 super or 38 acp brass will work any body got any experience in shooting these little guns?Reloading info?

9mm Bayard and .38 ACP are dimensionally very similar, except .38 ACP is semi-rimmed and 9mm Bayard is rimless. Many, probably most, 9mm Bayard Spanish pistols were made or modified to shoot .38 ACP and were marked 9mm & .38. .38 ACP and .38 Super are of course dimensionally identical, but the pistols weren't strong enough to use with .38 Super. I'd suspect .38 Super brass would work fine in a Destroyer.

Ammo for the DESTROYER Carbine, formerly a favourite of the Guardia Civil, is easiest made just by loading Winchester 9x23 brass to the performance level of the old 9mm Bergmann-Bayard, aka the 9mm Largo.

There is only .004" difference between the lengths of the two cartridges and this is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Besides, fire the stuff a few times and it will stretch. Four thou is well within regular factory tolerances, anyway.

Enjoy your DESTROYER: very pretty example of a unique little rifle.

Your rifle, looks like the third model. If it is, I have a similar rifle. I shoot 9x23 out of mine. I won't say it's safe in your rifle though. Your call. The 9x23, is easy to reload, as stated by smellie.
I shot my original 9x23 rounds because I couldn't find any brass to reload and I was having a heck of a time, trying to pull the bullets. Winchester must have really made those two boxes tight.
This rifle, is great for rabbits and grouse. If you can get close enough, it will knock over a coyote quite nicely as well.

Use Win 9x23 brass and .38 Super load data...........................Or set back and rechamber to 9mm and take advantage of cheap ammo...............9mm.Colt 1911 mags fit after a notch is demelled/filed to catch the mag holder...........Harold

Tradeex a sponsor has mags. In some of these the bolt face will take a 38 Super rim and this ctg works fine.

I've had one of these for years. Ordered the correct 9mm brass from Midway ( when we could still do that) and found it was a little too short and the extractor wouldn't work. I think the Midway brass was .900 long. Anyway I got my hands on a good supply of 9mm Win Mag and shortened them to .910. My chamber maybe a little deeper than specs. Works great when sized in 38 super dies and loaded with cast bullets. A fine little cast bullet plinker. Mine will shoot groups of 11/2 to 2" at 50 yds.

Thanks for the info everyone I'm looking into getting the correct brass first I believe starline makes it . Should be a fun little plinker when I get it shooting.
