Lately, there's been some buzz on Youtube about Arken Optics. The scopes are Chinese built and supposedly Arken guarantees the tracking to 0.1 %. The scope that is being pushed (yeah I tend to be sceptical) is 4-16x 34mm tube mil-rad optic. Is there an equivalent to this scope or is there an importer for these in Canada? It would be interesting to see how well they actually do hold up. I also have to wonder how much of the technology was 'borrowed' from other manufacturers.

Interesting that Nightforce/Trijicon/Burris/Swarovski/Leupold etc all make 1-8 with 34mm some even do 1-6.

They either make them in high end Japanese shops (NF, Trijicon), the USA (Burris, Leupold) or in Europe (Swaro) you know, places that build quality goods with proper QC unlike the crap that routinely comes out of the PRC...

You missed the point, we all know about China. So if it was a 30mm scope made in China in 16x would it be fine? If it was a 40mm scope with 50x would it be more or less ridiculous? The size of the scope body or magnification has nothing to do with where its made, it's made well or its not. Last time I checked all scope manufactures have return/warrantee departments no matter who made them or where. Yeah, news flash China has made some real junk the size of the scope has nothing to do with this.

Settle down there chief, I never mentioned the size of the scope nor did I say the magnification was "ridiculous", another poster did. You mentioned that other companies made 34mm scopes in 16x so why wouldn't this be fine. My point was the other companies you mentioned didn't make their scopes in China and therefore most likely put out a superior product. I agree that it's no news flash that China puts out some real junk.

Recently saw these as well, I’m curious what they would cost and if they’re all they’re amped up to be...
I’ve been considering getting a vortex hst, which are pretty solid units, wonder how the Arkens would compare.

?

Who is Chief? And why is he not settled(if I was native I might be insulted). Never said anything about this be fine why does everyone make up stuff no one said (like the world is schizophrenic.) Just pointing out that the scopes tube size and magnification has nothing to do with quality.

That’s because the bigger tube allows them to have a larger objective lens without adding a bell end. They can keep the straight tube design.

You missed the part where its also weighs less with out a large objective and bells extra material.

You should pick you quotes more carefully then, because you are clearly not following.

Back on the subject are those available here?

By those, you mean Arken?
No, as of now they are not exporting outside of the US. If you want one you can order and have shipped to an FFL for export. I am using Prophet River. Mine are sitting in Montana and hopefully in my hands early March.
Time will tell if they are a good scope or not but all of the reviews have been great and any stories of issues have been quickly resolved by Arken.
If Frank likes it then I am less concerned about it being junk.
He has some bias regarding a couple of companies but generally his opinions are spot on and tells it like it is.
