Armalite ar-180 from 9-Hole Reviews

Sterling made great Ar18 and AR180 rifles
they also made AR18 and AR180 short carbines for military and Police
many were imported into Canada by Allen Lever

I know someone who has two AR180. I have not had the opportunity to shoot them but have handled one. For sure they feel cheaply made and kind of rattly. The modern CDN variants feel much more solid and better made.

The Sterling rifles are only a hair better than the Armalites. Definitely nice rifles but still a cheap, as was the goal. The folding stock mechanism is the most hot garbage thing I've ever seen. The only requirement was "cheap and easy". Floppy and loose like it would break if you looked at it too hard.

That said, every time I pick up my Stirling 180, I want to 80's action movie some Irish politicians. I have a Sterling 180 upper mounted to an Armalite lower. FAL style folding stock makes it a pretty damn slick package. The rifle is also incredibly light! Feels like a toy.

I had one but sold recently due to price increase. The buyer told me that he has several and mine was the best of the bunch, so I guess some are just worn out. Mine felt very solid and not rattly at all.
