Seems interesting.

Someone with greater knowledge of UK gun laws will have to help out. If I read this correctly, the firer must pull the cocking piece back to set the rifle to fire. Cycling the bolt is not enough. There have been others who have converted No.4 actions to other cartridges, so not a new "thing".

Opening the bolt half cocks it and closing it brings it to full ####, instead of simply cocking on closing like a typical Lee Enfield.

I read the supplied link regarding this rifle.....who in there right mind would take a highly sought after L42A1 sniper and use that for the basis of the conversion?
Something smells a bit fishy about this one!!!

Agreed. Its a shame more companies dont continue to produce these. They are very beautiful.

I would love to have a Lee action in a modern calibre myself, as would many others, and yet nobody delivers. Odds are I'll have to bring an Ishapore 2A though IRG, but something modern would be no less satisfying, possibly even more so.

There was a 7.62 Ishapore in the last Switzer's gun auction. It went for more than $1000 as I recall.

The British establishment has some exaggerated attitudes towards civilians owning precision rifles, even outmoded and long obsolete ones. Nevermind some of their Bisley target rifles are technological leaps and repeatable bounds ahead of reworked No.4 actions. There are 7.62 target conversions of No.4T rifles that sold well, and the shop was able to turn out enough to make a name for themselves. One which I once knew but promptly forgot. The L42A1s for instance by all appearances were guarded like Norden bombsights, and apparently released in small batches under strict rules. An Enforcer issued to police is a more common find. Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons YT channel stated that just about all L96 rifles were chopped up into little pieces. Those precious few that survive were ones outside the army's control.
