Thinking of buy a ar type rifle and looking at the ar180b because its non-restricted, is there a big diff between this rifle and say a lower line colt ar type. I already have a new style mini14 ranch would it make any sense to buy the 180b and are there many add on that can be done to it. Sorry for my confusion, Its just that I have $1100 in my firearm account that I want to spend and I don't hunt and I'm done with handguns for now. Thought I start buy some rifles and I like the military type. Any input would be appriciated.
Thanks.

First of all, the AR180B is NOT an AR15. Do not think of it as a cheaper AR15, you will be disapointed.

That being said, the AR180B is a very rugged and reliable utility rifle. It takes commonly available AR15 magazines which is a big plus. Every day there are more and more aftermarket accessories for the AR180B. When I first got mine about all you could do was scope it with the horrible factory scope rings.

Now days you can add an M4 stock, a folding stock, an optics rail, rail handguard, vertical grips, lights, etc. It is a great little rifle for the price.

If you like your Mini 14 you will LOVE the AR180B. Easier to find magazines and much more acurate than the Mini.

is there any type of rail system for it? say something like the S.I.R.?

Thanks
Yes. www.midwestindistriesinc.com
I'm still trying to find out who will carry them in Canada. The guy at Midwest told me DPMS is the distributor, so I assume the Canadian DPMS distributor would be able to get them. I think TSE is that distributor.

Also, folding stocks will not change the classification of the AR180B. Mine has a folder.
