Anyone ever seen a ARMS 18 that had the cutout in the back as a stripper clip guide? The front pad is also cut like the receiver ring of a Turk Mauser for the bullet tips to pass through. It's marked M21/14. Anyone have thought on it's origin? Maybe military? Thanks, Mark

I think this may be one of the earliest ARMS mounts. I'm sure you've had a few PM's offering to buy it already :p .

My first time trying this, but here she goes...

That is the original (discontinued) ARMS #18 mount.

I had a feeling this is what you were asking about, but a picture is worth 1000 words!!!!;)

This is the mount that was used on the BHD M14, with the Aimpoint mounnted on the front rail section.

These mounts are sought after because of the tendancies with the newer full length rail ARMS #18 of having cases hit the edgw of the mount and jam the bolt or op rod.

I had one previously, but it didn't have the stripper clip guide built in. I thought it was maybe a military version. This one I'm keeping.

Anyone know why A.R.M.S. went with the new style and discontinued the old one for the #18? Is it cheaper for them to manufacture with the solid rail rather than the cutout on the old style mounts?

Just wondering why they don't offer both models if the original style is so sought after.

More space for mounting different optics along the rail.
