Today I picked up my Armscore/Derya TM22 Featherlite from my local post office. Shipping from a Canadian Site IRG was very quick. This model resembles the M4 carbine but the barrel is a bit longer at 18.5". The entire furniture is synthetic/polymer but, surprisingly, feels very solid. The polymer stock is fully adjustable to 15" length and also for height.
The rifle came with 2 polymer 10-rd magazines, a set of keys and a manual. The rifle does not feel like a "featherlite". The manual lists 5lbs weight unloaded. My "featherlite" Citadel Trakr 22LR semi-auto weighs 3.6lbs by comparison. By the way the user manual that came in a package, is very good. It has very clear, self-explanatory pictures. The M4-ish carrying handle (thick polymer) is removable by unscrewing a front screw and nut. At the rear end, the carrying handle has installed metal rear peep sight (two apertures) which is fully adjustable for windage&elevation. In addition, the post front sight is adjustable for elevation. The peep sight systems is very clear for aiming. I like it. The front sight is easily removable by unscrewing two screws/nuts. But removing it is not really necessary for installation of any optics. The latter can be installed by removing the handle/rear sight from the top cover which has an integral Picattiny rail. It is enough to install a bit higher rings (e.g. 1.5) and the scope/red dot will not be obscured by the front sight. After removing the top cover/Picattiny rail, the entire bolt assembly can be pulled out easily for cleaning. If someone would like to completely disassemble the rifle it can be done with a wrench that comes together with a rifle but this is unnecessary for a simple cleaning.
I'm pretty impressed with a thoughtful design of this rifle. It is quite impressive. For the price of C$337.20 I paid to my door this is a super-deal. Thanks IRG! Bring more deals like that to your Canadian Store. Unfortunately, the TM22 Feather are now sold out from the Canadian IRG site.
Next is a shooting range. Perhaps, next week there will be nice day for shooting 22LR.

P.S. (3/3/2024) Just measured the trigger pull weight with my Lyman Trigger Pull Gauge. The average of 10 measurements is 2.15+-0.11 lbs! Amazing trigger pull weight which is closer to a quality target rifle than to a cheap plinker!

Way to kick me when I’m down ….lol
Thanks for the info for the ones that missed out
A range report will be appreciated
Hope it goes well
Cheers

Does it have the buffer problem like the others ?

First and foremost, the buffer issue in the original Derya TM22 model occurs when the "clubfoot style" original stock is replaced by a fully adjustable "AR-buffer style stock" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuvGFtz2s68). In the Armscor/Derya TM22 Feather model, the mounting of the adjustable stock is done differently than that in the regular Derya TM22. In the Feather model, there is a gap of about 1.5" from the end of the stock tube to the proper buffer sitting at the end of the lower. As such, the sharp end of the stock tube is far away from the buffer. The buffer in the Feather model is also different than that in the Derya TM22. It is a simple square piece of hard rubber that can be pulled out from the small rail in the lower for replacement. IMHO the Feather model is a smarter design than the original Derya TM22 model.

On second thought, I decided to test precision/accuracy with a scope rather than just iron sights. So, I added a cheap scope (pics). The rings height for a scope is 34mm and that clears the front sight post very nicely. It does not have to be removed. I'm planning to go to my indoor range on Friday. The range is short, jus 20m but will see how it goes.

Could you please post a link to their site with that rifle, I found it very hard to navigate. Thnx

The link is here: https://www.irunguns.ca/product.php?departments=Rifles&categories=Semi-Automatic. But this particular rifle is sold out. The price was out of this world so the rifles disappeared in no time. Having said that, check periodically their website. I think that they will have more rifles coming in Spring/Fall 2024. Although, the price might not be so great anymore.

Looks like an updated versions of the 0lder Armscor/Squires Bingham Model 16R (retractable stock version). Given a used 16R sells for about the same as you paid, looks like a great deal. Enjoy!

So what was the accuracy like? Any FTF or FTE? Certain ammo is does or doesn't like? I'm torn between this one or the Derya .

So far, I've tested for functionality only with CCI Standard Velocity, Norma TAC-22, Remington Thunderbolt 40gr/1255fps and Remington Golden 36gr/1280fps. No FTF, no FTE. It was working flawlessly. The trigger pull is amazing.
Unfortunately, I could not do any accuracy test because the old Chinese scope you see in the last picture fell apart during shooting! So, now I have the carrying handle/rear sight re-installed and waiting for a better weather to go to my 25y outdoor range and do some accuracy test with "iron sights". Today, it's snowing here in Waterloo.
In the meantime, I've been looking for some reasonably priced Simmons scope.

P.S. Now, one can order a black TM22 Feather from IRUNGUNS: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...2-Feather-All-Black-209-99-USD-on-next-import. They will be available in April 2024. Still, the same superb price as I paid.
P.S.2 (added April 12/24): Unfortunately, the price is 30USD higher than I paid but IMO it's still a great deal.

As I mentioned above my old scope didn't work and basically fell apart. So, I decided to mount a red dot as can be seen in a pic below. At 20m indoor, I was consistently grouping <1" with my old eyes. Seems that the TM 22 Feather is quite accurate. In the future, I'll try some scope. But now my 100m range is under re-construction. So, I'll wait till the range is available.

Today, April 25/2024, I went to the range for testing precision/accuracy of my TM22 Feather at 25 yards. Unfortunately, my 100m range is under re-construction until the end of May. It was a sunny day, temperature was about 6degC and wind 13/20 km/h. I was shooting with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot mounted on a rifle as shown in post#13 from a front Feyachi bench rest and the butt stock supported by a small Champion bag. As targets, I used black stickers, 0.7" in diameter. The red dot was exactly centered at the sticker. The average of 7 strings, 5 shot each of TAC-22 (1083fps/40gr) comes to 0.48+-0.21" (SD). The average of 9 strings, 5 shot each of CCI Mini Mag (1235fps/40gr) comes to 0.49+-0.19". Both ammo brands give very good results, especially, taking into account the fact that I didn't use a scope and a red dot is less precise. I also tried the Aguila Super Extra HP 1280fps/38gr but the grouping was more than 1". The rifle was working like a proverbial "sewing machine". No problems of any kind. I noticed that the rifle likes to be wet during shooting for which I use Ballistol. I love the two-stage, 2 lbs trigger on this rifle. Feels like the one on a precision target rifle. It's a pleasure to shoot.

P.S. I only used 10-rd magazines both synthetic and aluminum for a regular Derya TM22. They worked splendidly. No problems.

You can easily correct that with a fake reverse suppressorr like i did on my JR carbines

Polymer, that's why they are cheaper.

And it's lighter than the aluminum version. The Feather weighs 2.2kg (4.85lbs) vs. 2.8kg (6.2lbs) for the aluminum one. The polymer stock feels, indeed, very solid. Derya describes it as "a durable polymer receiver, a testament to modern engineering". That tells me that it's "engineered polymer", most likely, reinforced with glass fiber similarly to the Zytel product.

Hey 05RAV, thanks for all the information on this rifle. I'm tempted. Any idea if the height of the front sight would be compatible with a Magpul MBUS rear flip up sight? Is the front co-witness with the red dot?

How has your experience been since posting those thread? Any change?

Thanks
