ArmsEast?

Changes in government don't mean you 180 on everything and begin bordering on scamming and abandoning the customers that built your business up in the first place.
Their bulk of their business was based on selling items that are now illegal to sell.

If you think that addresses the complaints shared in this thread I disagree. Other businesses managed to adapt without alienating, outright ripping off or disappearing on anyone.
I don't know how to respond to someone who argues about something i never said or implied. You assume I was defending them and you are wrong.

Made a ~ $1,400.00 transaction on their website with a Visa...clicked the armseast.ca link posted on this forum, it re-directed to armseast.com with landing page advertising Canadian/USA services, I re-confirmed here that dealer appeared active as of 2024, attempted an order because the ammo availability was too sweet and no indication of US-only services or US currency denomination, transaction immediately was shown as 'not processed' and realized not good to try a second time, learned later that the transaction did process and I emailed and also called Arms East at their Florida contact details....still no answer after four weeks of waiting and now my bank is attempting to recover the funds.
Hello,

I am sorry to read this. This was just brought to my attention and I investigated what has transpired. First off, I do now see your CC transaction for July 14 or ~$960USD. On seeing it, It has now been immediately refunded through the merchant account.

The reason for this situation with your order issue is due to the setup of our new website and an error in it's going live. You placed the order almost on day one of our testing. The order did not show as placed or received in the webstore, but I now know from your post that it did go through the CC processor. We only received an email that an order was attempted, without a name, but was unsuccessful for address verification. I did not know until just reading this that we had received the payment or even that the order was placed. I apologize for this confusion.

I do see your email address in the authorize.net but we do not have any emails in our system regarding this order! We will deep dive into this. I would like to call you to offer my apology more personally, but the only contact I have for you, in the authorize.net file did not capture a phone number.

Our new USA website is having some teething issues for CDN info and this is why we have not marketed anything from there for Canadian orders, particularly for ammunition which the FL office cannot send for $9.95 shipping to a Canadian address.

TLDR: The new system was about a day old when you placed your order. It should have clearly refused the order of bulk ammo to a CDN address. The CC processor captured the payment while the e-commerce side showed order as failed for security. We have reversed/refunded the payment.

stay away,in the last few months before the handguns ban, they sent me the wrong pistol, and only after a few email and phone calls, there response was sorry but the pistol we sent you is more expensif.
I remember this. Still sorry. But, in our defence, we really couldn't do anything due to the Liberals import ban. During the gong show lead up to the import ban we did register a stainless 1911 as blue. You ordered the blue and we transferred the stainless thinking the serial was the blue model. If we could have corrected it we would have, and still would have, we could not import a replacement. The apology was sincere. I am sorry it wasn't accepted. Mentioning it was a more expensive pistol shipped than ordered wasn't intended to be flippant, but rather likely to say that there wasn't some refund of difference maybe if the mistake was the other way around?

Vote of confidence, or not?
I am eye-balling some ammo.

I can find no contact info for them, and their web check-out indicates no cost for shipping ammo, that I put into their web shopping cart. Hummmmm...

Thoughts?
Hi,
The new USA website is still in work/beta mode for Canadians, this is why it hasn't been advertised. We are working on it's completion with CDN info. Clearly we cannot ship ammo to Canada from USA for free and to your door. You are correct in not placing an order. All will be made clear in the coming weeks.

Avoid IMO
They are a legit business.
Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
They screwed a couple people I know around right before the handgun ban and almost costed them their only handgun.
We imported and shipped hundreds and hundreds of pistols on very short notice before the ban and got MANY Canadians a pistol who might have otherwise not received one. I realize that two people didn't get emailed about the two pistols they had asked for notice on when they came available (1x P365 which was listed and sold on the website without emailing a person who had asked to be emailed, and 1x MP45 which did not get listed at all) but hope the hundreds of others who did get their pistols will somehow help balance this situation. I can only assume this is what you refer to as 'screwed'. Had I known how vindictive the person asking for notice on the P365 was, I would have passed on their potential business, to be frank.

Wasn’t their parent store always in the US?
Sort of like IRG.
I think all the ban sh!t really hurt there NL site

Our parent operation was and remains Canadian. We have operated in the USA since 2014 and in Europe since 2023.
If you think that addresses the complaints shared in this thread I disagree. Other businesses managed to adapt without alienating, outright ripping off or disappearing on anyone.

Hi, to be clear, we haven't ripped off anyone, ever! I have addressed the situation of the one person here who did place an order on our new US website just after launch and explained why it wasn't filled. I also explained that this has been refunded immediately on me being made aware of it. That was an IT issue with the back end of our new website.

Their bulk of their business was based on selling items that are now illegal to sell.
For our Canadian commercial operations, this is painfully true. Since the bans we have concentrated on our defence and international wholesale, which isn't website based, so not much would be seen here. We continue to sponsor CGN as we develop new sales channels for Canada (to be announced) as well as waiting for an election, a new govt, and new laws.

Well, if there is no contact info for them or their shopping cart offers no cost for shipping ammo is a red flag.
The Florida phone number was an even bigger red flag for me .
You mileage may differ though.
Anyone else care to chime in ?
Rob
Hi, hopefully this is explained above. We have new USA website which is being configured for CDN info. No, the USA store cannot ship ammo to Canadians for free. :)

^I can't wait to buy 2 or 3 .308 stag 10's in a year and a bit off you guys (new gov). The stag 10 was a home run before the turd

I used to enjoy dealing with ArmsEast but I think they kind of abandoned their canadian customers
Hi, with the Liberal bans we did indeed have to pivot to our defence and international business and have such not been marketing commercial products to Canada over the past year or so. We didn't abandon Canadian customers so much as the Canadian Govt attempted to drive a stake into our heart. We will be revealing new CDN sales channels shortly.

There have been many posts about whether Arms East is still in business & so on for quite a few years here on CGN.
I used to order from them years back & even then there where often delays to your email inquiries & so on.
If Walter personally answered your email or even phoned you then you would know things were going to be good to go.
It always seemed to me this wasn't their main business or it was a part time thing.
Was happy with a lot of purchases from them & had a warranty issue that they quickly resolved.

Update:
Now I see Walter is online. Hi Walter, I hope you make things right for your customers once again!

Bought a 10.5" Faxon barrel for my PCC in March from them. Everything went smoothly was shipped in less than a week and except for the usual CBSA bs, is on my rifle and works great.

Hi Webman1,

Thank you for the kind words. We always appreciate your business and communications!

I find your comment on the wondering interesting and astute. I will elaborate I guess. Arms East is a veteran owned business in operation in Canada since 2005, USA since 2014 and the EU since 2023. Over the years we have had some particular flurries of direct commercial firearm sales to Canadian retail customers, such as the Stag-10 from approval (after a several year-long lead-up) in late 2018 through ban in May 2020, the months leading up to the handgun ban in 2022, but mostly, retail Canadian firearm sales to individuals is not our volume business.

Our primary business is govt/military, law enforcement and international wholesale including large calibre weapons and ammunition. This is not a side of the business that CGN sees. It is why we can turn on a tap, such as before the handgun ban, and move industrial quantities of firearms to Canada quickly, but have difficulty when we suddenly receive hundreds of phone calls a day from hundreds of individuals, many with varied and unique specific requests. It is a bit disheartening to know we supplied many Canadian shops including our own with pallet after pallet of handguns delivered airfreight right down to the wire, working almost 24/7 for months, to make sure so many CDNs get their pistols before the ban, only to read here about how we are a joke because one guy who wanted an individual phone call say we 'screwed him' because we listed firearm for sale on our website without calling him to tell him they were listed. I say somewhat, as I know what actually was delivered, (and so does the govt.)

To location, I see people mentioning our Newfoundland operations. I am a Newfoundlander, and we did operate our Canadian commercial sales out of our Newfoundland location until the end of 2023, but, for what it's worth, our Canadian CDN Govt/LE sales operate out of our Ottawa office since 2018. As of January 2024, with the loss of most Candian retail business due to the Liberal bans, we have closed the Newfoundland location and consolidated our Canadian operations in Ottawa, expanding with a new office/warehouse there.

We do have new product for Canadians in 2024 and 2025, including one biggie we are really excited about. Beyond this, we will post here as about retail opportunities for Canadians from time to time. We WILL continue to operate in Canada and WILL be voting in a new government and WILL be selling what is legal in the future.

We sincerely appreciate all our customers and every interaction we have with them. If there is ever a problem, it is the nature of the beast that this will be what is heard the loudest, (sometimes with only selective details included or not-included), but I think and hope people know we run an honorable, honest operation.

I have read the thread here. The gentleman with the S&W 22 mag sold during the moving clearout that had an issue, I will reach out to you and this will be corrected and an apology will be issued. I think the fellow who placed an ammo order on the new website that shouldn't have worked is hopefully almost resolved with the refund that has been actioned on, I will reach out in person by email as I don't have a phone number. Other than that, we still are shipping to Canada on a daily basis BUT, please note we are fine tuning the new website and in particular the shipping calculator and info system in general. If you order 2000 rounds of ammo in the USA to your Canadian residential address and see no shipping cost in the checkout, please know it won't be delivered, (but neither will you be charged in the end). Like I say, once this is fully functional we will post here. We didn't start this thread or intend on soliciting business in Canada with the new website for the moment. I do apologize for any confusion, and do appreciate the questions.

We look forward to doing business with each and every one of you in the future.
