.... I'm looking to confirm the manufacturer of an Israeli M98 (7.62mm) conversion. It has stamped clearly on the receiver ring M98, and the manufacturer code " swp45" which is I believe BRNO and the 45 refers to the year of production. Correct ? The metal is quite well finished, beech stock, no 'take down disk, but it has the hole is in the heel of the butt. All parts are milled, with the exception of the butt plate. Again, am I correct in assuming that the Israelis "force matched" and refinished these rifles ? Bolt is un-numbered and the trigger/magazine floor plate # do not matchthe rifles serial #. Indicative of rebuilding and "forced matching" ? ..... barrel etc. in good shape, shows relatively, little wear since having been re blued. Without pictures I know it's hard, but an idea of the value ? And the final question, does the CFC use the manufacturer swp45 or Brno (if I'm right about the actual maker) for registration purposes ? Thanks guys ! LEE ENFIELDS I know, but Mauser's hardly anything ! .... David K.
