Arthritis and small parts

I am, but modelers pliers seem to be cheaper. - dan

I picked up ½ dozen assorted mini pliers today at a liquidation store in the city.
I ordered a small table top vise and a pair of surgical tools from Amazon.
I also ordered the last few parts I need from Brownells, ( hard to support Canadian shops when nothing is in stock)
Determined to do this 10-22 on my own.
It's not even a particularly good looking gun and works the way it is.
Not even sure why I'm bothering, LOL

This 10-22 has a nice Dlask barrel as the main attraction, I like the little Vortex red dot.

Crazy hobby, I look in the gun room and see a dozen or more holiday trips we could go on.

A lot of interesting suggestions here. I always just tried to adapt and made out OK. I'll confess to having spent some time hunting for small parts which had jumped ship.. I do use hemostats, from time to time, to handle small parts.

princess auto some times has a good stock of these , I have had a couple sets for 40+ yrs, I picked up a set while back , large with about a 12 in reach. have a few different ones.
My trigger finger and thumb still good , the rest are not much good, small screwdrivers are a problem, as well as small hammers.
Had the eyes done yrs ago and that still good.

Wire wheels, you must have something covering your eyes, thou I did have a hi grade fine 6 in carding wheel that never seem to loss wire, it was very soft.
cheap ones are terrible dam things .
Good luck with the build.

Dan, are talking about Surgical Hemostat? Or am I missing something?

Here's a few that make life less stressful in the hobby room.

I see you have some Crocodile Forceps. Those are handy when nothing else can reach deep enough.

Got to get one! Spent 9hrs on a sowing machine yesterday. Take about little parts, needed tweezers to hold the screw and the smallest screw driver I had. And don’t drop it because you have to flip the machine over and shake it out.

I have one of these light/magnifiers on my gun bench, and another in my office. Very helpful. - dan

If you have a buddy in the Funeral business (I used to be) they can likely order some for you at a reasonable price from companies like ESCO (Embalmers Supply Company) I'm not kidding. Our local surplus store has a whack of them in stock cheap also.

As a Quadriplegic with very limited hand function magnets are my friend.
Magnetized screwdrivers and magnetized picks and punches are good for positioning small parts. A hobby vise is also great for holding assemblies like 10/22 trigger pack while you fit parts back to it.
Also, to keep a part from shifting sometimes a gob of sticky grease does the trick. Sometimes you just need to think outside the box.

I ordered the big magnificent lighted magnifying glass.
Amazon makes it too easy to spend money.
At least this purchase is easily justified.

Yup a gob of grease or a little ball of clear tape.

I also picked up this little vise on Amazon $30

Getting old is getting expensive.

Same vise but only $ 25 ->
