ARX-160 (new try)

God it's ugly. Why do Italians have to make everything so garish. I'm holding my breath for the Remington ACR or 805 Bren

I don't like the look of it either. The front handguard looks like it came off of a paint stripper of something. I don't care for the look of the mag well area either. It may work well but it is just a goofy looking rifle.

Everyone said the Tavor was ugly...
Then the SCAR-16s... the ACR...

I'll take different and functional over ###y and non-functional. 6.6lbs with a 12" barrel. Really, what's not to like?

You never know it could grow on me. Even the ugly girls start to look good at last call.:) The functionality of the design is interesting and I like that but I just wish it looked better. To complete the package.

I will likely have a couple years to warm up to it before it is released. My tastes are constantly changing. The pocket book can attest to that.

I like the rifle and will probably pick one up if/when they are imported in a non-restricted version. One thing I've noticed with a lot of these new designs is just how "fat" or thick they've made the center body of the rifle.

Back when we could still take our AR-15s in the field, I enjoyed being able to easily wrap my hand around the rifle in front of the magwell and carry it sans sling. This rifle, like the ACR, SCAR, etc...are so thick that such a carry is impossible, or at least impractical. Just an observation...

Its the down side of using synthetics.
The G36 is the skinny one of the bunch.

Take a look at Benelli's, beautiful shotguns be it tactical or sporting.

SOME companies aren't as good, although Beretta usually have pretty decent looking guns.

Benelli and Beretta have both some pretty wonky-looking guns. That said, I'm far more interested in how well the ARX-160 functions than what it looks like.
