As most of you that own a 9mm AR know, the 10 round ASC Lar mags are too short.

I personally like the 5/20 lengths, and find the 5/32 length looks too long.

A quick solution I found was to use Glock Speedplates ($20 for 3), cheap and easy, and ads a little more length to the mage for better reloads. Better than nothing right?

Also working with Alex at GSDesign on a extension that would work under Magpuls, and may look decent on their. Stay tuned.

3d printed extensions.

Here's something I've been working on with a friend who has a 3d printer and the modelling tools. We've gone through a few different prototypes but these are getting very close to the final design.

The extension is designed to slide onto the base plate with a screw to keep it from sliding off, similar to the AR mag couplers you may have seen before. Overall, it's solid but because it's attached to the base plate, there's some slight play as the base plate itself isn't solidly attached to the mag body. It's not really noticeable in actual use though.

Regarding length, I wanted them long enough to get a decent grip on them, similar to the pistol mag in the picture. So far, they work well in that regard and my thumb is in the right place to activate the AR's bolt catch after insertion.

I'm also doing durability testing to see how they stand up to dropping on concrete and being stepped on. Hopefully if everything works out in that regard, I'll get a few more printed and try them out in longer-term testing.
