Just looking at the Asil Bulldog that Corwin has on sale for $238 right now. Not a lot of info about this gun on here or online. Anyone have anything to say about it, or bought one. I'm looking at buying the 13" model.

Thanks fellas...

Heh, feels weird when someone references a thread I started.

I've had it to the range since the "initial impressions" review. It's a smooth, easy/quick cycling gun. The ergonomics are "odd" - more like a thumbhole stock than a pistol grip, but easy to get used to.

For reference, I have a Norinco 870 knockoff, a vintage Winchester 1897 (1907 production), a Wingmaster, an old Marlin pump (at the moment), and have had a number of other pump guns over the years. (plus a few semis and break action single/double shotguns).

This runs smoother than the Norinco or vintage 1897 (but that thing is over 100 years old, and kinda high maintenance at this point), as quick as a Wingmaster, but doesn't feel as "solid" (if that makes any sense). Not that I think it will fall apart or anything, just doesn't have that "feel" to it, if you know what I mean.

I'm kinda afraid to fire the old Marlin, TBH. It was made before 1900 (1898, IIRC), and not sure how it would take modern loads (even target loads).

Anyway, after 50 or so target loads, a dozen 00buck, a half dozen standard slugs, and exactly 3 magnum slugs (the gun is chambered for 3" magnums)... It ran well, and I have confidence in it continuing to do so. 3" Magnum slugs are unpleasant to shoot. But I haven't found a gun I enjoy shooting 3" magnums out of, so, not really a knock against it. Unloaded, it comes in under 6 lbs (for the 18" bbl version), so its a light shotgun to be running magnums. It punches you around. The recoil pad is nice, and quite effective, but 6lbs is realistically to light to be lobbing magnum slugs with.

As a lightweight bush gun/truck gun? Yah, I don't regret it at all. Especially at this price. Better quality and smoother than the Norinco pumps - which are actually more expensive. The ergonomics are their own thing, and you'll need to get used to them - not better/worse than other guns out there, just different.

I'm expecting the odd jam/FTF/FTE over the first few hundred round break in, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Essentially, at this price, I'd call it a "top contender in the under $400 pump gun" bracket.
