Since my father took my 300 wm I have a strong desire for another. But I want it more for fun then actual hunting even though it would see time afield
Basically I wanted a savage action. 26" heavier barrel blued and a vertical pistol gripped stock was thinking like xlr or mdt. However I got to handle the savage 110 ba. I've always liked the look since it came out and playing with it in store has me wondering if I should same time and just buy it instead of buying parts and assembling my own. Price is very similar
Anyone with the 110 ba care to share their thoughts?

I have the BA in .308 with 24" barrel and love it so far. Way more accurate then the other .308's I've owned before this one. I'm only a few months in though and haven't got to shoot out past 400yards yet but expect good results. These rifles are heavy as hell so more for target shooting then carrying in the field.

Assemble your own and you can really make it your own. The barrel, imo, is the key part. You can get a very high quality cut rifled barrel in whatever twist, contour and length you like. Plus the chamber can be cut however you like too.

From my limited experience, it depends whether you want to sell it eventually. If yes I'd buy off the shelf since the rifle will hold it's value over a custom.
