I'm thinking on getting an AR before they get banned, I doubt that it'll happen, but we never truely know now do we?
I don't have the funds for a complete rifle but if I save up for a little while, at cut down the weekend drinking parties, I'll be able to purchase a complete lower
I like Bushmaster lowers but don't know their prices.
DPMS is like $450 at Epps.
Don't quite know the cost of a complete Dlask lower
RRA is the #### and colt ain't far behind either.
I really want a AR47  but don't know of any dealers.

All input welcome as always :D
Thanks to all,

don't know about AR47, but i think the Dlask stripped lower is around 250-288 and the lower parts kit is around 125 to 150..

it should be a bit lower than the $450 for the DPMS from Epps, having said that i think you can get a really good deal on DPMS lowers from TSE as well?

I prefer the Bushmaster or the Armalite, availability wise I have always bought armalite..... have assembelled 5 of them and they all went together smooth. did one DPMS and the finish was rougher and putting it together a little more hassle.

I have a DPMS ($399 for a complete lower from TSE) and a Bushmaster. Both are excellent quality. RRA must be doing something right as they have won contracts for the US, DEA and others.

I've assembled a Bushmaster stripped lower with DPMS LPK... all went fine.
For saving some bucks, I'd suggest you buy an Eagle Arms stripped lower from Wolverine Supplies (238.50$ + gst + shipping) and I could get you a DPMS LPK from Brownells at about 80 $ cdn + shipping to your place.

... personnally I really like the rattlesnake logo on the Bushies

On AR-15.com Bushmaster seems to be the lower of choice.

My view? If you're really that strapped for cash, buy a stripped lower. Then build it up when you have a bit more on hand. Then save some more and do an upper...

Don't do like me and buy an upper first. :D

Way more? Last time I was at Epps they had a stripped Bushmaster lower for $299... Thats not way more than any other brand.

I foolishly didn't buy it when I was there. But oh well...

Me thinks me is gonna getsa Eagle Arms lower and goesit from therez.
To much coffee :p
Eagle Arms at about $50 less then Dlask from Wolverine, and it's fully Mil spec too!!!!

I dont think Eagle Arms are milspec, I think only bushy, Colt and some other companys are. KAC, LMT, Sage.

No civy lower is true MILSPEC

BM is NOT MILSPEC as they only Magnetic Partical Test small samples of their production not like Colt and Armalite (or LMT, KAC, Diemaco etc...)

Well true milspec would require much more product inspection (QC departement), better anodizing such a type 3 and not the type 2 that we are used to, that little extra hole for fire control components that we are not allowed to discuss, more rigorus metals testing/selection/analysis (material purity),black light for material consistancy (it checks for cracks), more machine setup inspection/verification to ensure that the machining center holds point of origin. Ya I know this.
However for the frugal weekend warrior, this is as good as it gets.

i have a Stag Arms lower...bought it stripped with a DPMS parts kit...Paid around $350 for it (from the EE forum). Really went together well...I would recommend them...AR15.com seems to be pretty fond of them as well. The big deere head looks kinda cool as well
