OK..I got her together.

I know I am supposed to call some governement agency 30 days after I mate the upper and lower...

I have forgotten, however, who that was...

Can someone let me know?

Since your lower is already registered and the gun isn't changing class I don't believe anything needs to be done, it's already restricted. This is just my opinion so I may be wrong, so the legal guys can confirm this.

Note: this is assuming we are talking about an AR-15..

Thanks guys..its a Stag 3R..

Walter (arms East who I bought it from) said he would call it in. Perhaps as a dealer he can make it happen.

OK..it sure is stored in two parts. TOTALLY.

(except when it's together)

;)

The certificate says you only need to notify the CFC if you change the classification of a firearm.
The certificate also gives barrel length, so I assume you wouldn't want an inspection done with a barrel that was not listed for the firearm.
Having said that, I sent a notice almost a year ago that I was changing barrels and never heard a thing yet.
I have also learned recently you can have a gun registered as having more than one barrel, providing the classification is not altered.

I sent in my paperwork 3 years ago and have been told they are still working on the change from reciever only to completed AR-15. Does not matter much now as I sold the upper and it is back to being a reciever only. They do not work very fast...
