I am looking to get feedback from you guys regarding SOCOM I got.
Is this a lemon or can be fixed easily, or required maybe needs to take everything apart and removing oprod guide and realign?

That's no lemon, that's just a Norc :)
Take it apart and rebuild following the stickies and it will probably all fall into place.
Should'nt take more than a quiet evening.
Looks like mine di before I ripped it apart and lined everything up, and mines been solid as a rock since then,
Im sure a lot more people will say the same.

Good luck.

Double tap.............sorry

Might need to peen and loctite the op rod guide, if it has some side-to-side play. Mine has the same problem, some people shoot it regardless.

I don't have any play, that's why I asked as anything else can be done oppose removing oprod guide

You don't need to remove the Op. Rod guide to align it. Strip the rifle, remove the Op. Rod guide pin, find a way to stabilize the receiver and the end of the barrel (e.g. a padded vice and a set of wood blocks perhaps), then get a BFH or mallet and beat that Op. Rod Guide into alignment. It is only held onto the barrel by the pin and friction and it is not a delicate mechanism.

At one of the clinics We used a big...I mean BIG mallet and a 1/2 inch, pointed steel punch to peen the barrel boss that the Op. Rod Guide fits over, by beating the crap out of it. Trust me, it will take a beating without harm.

Half the fun is tweaking and you will have difficulty hurting it. Let us know how it goes.

Easy fix... Don't panic. Yer #### won't fall off! You are safe. By the way, many many of the USGI M14 (the real ones) were offset like that op rod misalignment you show in the picture. I fixed so many, I've lost count over the 30 years. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. :D

Where abouts are you located?

cheers,
Barney

I was gonna say your #### is safe in Barney's hands...........but somehow it doesn't sound right :)

Anyway OP lots of people on here got your back.

thnx guys, will try myself to fix to learn more about system, if not work then will bug Barney :)
Another thing is to remove brake, it sits there tight, tried with gas pipe wrench, no go

The flashhider is welded on. Look closely at the underside you should see two slightly discolored spots. Read the stickies. Its all up there

Wow mine is so easy to take off I added some blue locktite, maybe the original owner used red that stuff makes it a lot hard to spin off.

I hope with vice I will be able to remove, just not looking to damage this brake, as I did not see if I can get it seperately

Put a rag or leather in a bench vice and place the flashider in the vice then unscrew the rifle from the brake , I have had to do a few like that now.

Here is mine with an idea of the ejection range about 2 feet, the mag is there for reference.

I went through the stickies tightened up the lose stuff (other than the Op rod) and went out. Do the tilt test there was so much oil on my piston that it could barely move under it's own power.

Pretty simple fix. The guys here are great so ask all the questions you want.

Second tarp was not mine it just there all tangled in the brambles, it will leave next time out no gloves this time. I really hate garbage.

Duh. I really feel retarded now. Note to self "when one is up for 28 hrs refrain from making post on CGN". Sorry dude.
