Assistance Requested for measuring brass

I would appreciate the assistance of anyone with 405 Winchester or 9.3x74R brass.

Given the absolutely obscene cost of .375 Flanged N.E. 2 1/2" brass, I intend to see if it is feasible to re-form brass for it from others into that caliber, as I had a blast shooting it this summer.



I would appreciate if someone can measure their rim size & thickness, as well as the base measurement, and let me know the brand as well.

Thanks for the link, that's a sweet rifle and I hope someone here can help, I for one would be proud as heck to own that, and would probably hunt with it!
 
Somehow missed this thread first time around... quick check of COTW shows that the 375 2 1/2 is slightly smaller in all dimensions than the .405; .456" vs .461" for the base dia., and .523" vs. .543" for the rim. Using .405 brass may work, or it may not.

The 9.3x74R has the same rim diameter, but the base diameter is significantly larger.
 
I wasn't around much last year, just saw your thread today. My HANDLOADERS MANUAL OF CARTRIDGE CONVERSIONS says to start with .405 basic. Turn rim to .523 dia. and back chamfer. Thin to .061 thick. Cut case to 2.6". Anneal. F/L size, trim to length and chamfer. Fire form in chamber.

COTW is so full of errors, both in photographs, descriptions and specifications, it has ceased to have any value for me.

In any event, the numbers they, and every other book out there, state are spec., not actual real-world measurements; hence why I had requested assistance from someone with that brass in hand.
