Assuming the Liberals drag out the election call, what 'service rifle' would you shoot this summer?

I was asked about training with another shooter to shoot the National Service Conditions match in Borden fall of 2025. We know the AR15 and its semi-auto parallels are off the table. We know the Liberals will drag out the election call as long as they can, but shooters are athletes and need to make decisions.

Handgun and precision rifle are run what you've got, but service rifle is less predictable. The course of fire favours 5.56 and optics. I suppose a Ruger American with AR15 mags would be a reasonable substitute service-style rifle that is unlikely to be banned. I'd like to try out a Remington 7615, but the auctions and EE aren't showing any. Short of an SKS, what are a fella's options?

JasonGTA I just noticed you had posted a comment on the Crypto Crusader build thread.

I like the looks of your project, but here's the problem. The feds aren't letting the foot off the gas pedal to ban everything that looks like an AR. Yours was been built muzzle to buttplate to NOT be an AR15, but what would you take to the matches if that suddenly got onto the ban lists?

If you're looking bolt action .223 the Renegade is pretty alright. It uses enough AR parts to be familiar if you shoot AR. Despite the minor issues I've had with it.
Uses STANAG and I've got my bolt LH so I can cycle it without changing my shooting grip too much.

Plan B is a Ruger American that takes the STANAG mags. Probably going to put it in some other stock (MDT or Magpul).

If I didn't have it I would consider buying a straight pull receiver set.

I caved, I borrowed an MRA Renegade for the match. I will run it for PR and SR.

The Ruger American in the Magpul hunter stock is nice, but it will not reliably feed while resting on the magazine.

Is that to do with the aftermarket stock or is that just inherent to the design of the rifle?
I can't say for sure, I don't recall it being a problem before but and big but it was years ago I was shooting stubby mags off hand and off a bipod.

I still need to try some metal mags to see if it is a Pmag thing or a rifle thing.

With the Ruger in the Magpul Hunter stock I can screw with the feeding by putting pressure on the mag. Up, forward or backward cause problems. I guess it gets short mags and shot off a bipod.

I borrowed a Gen1 MRA Renegade for NSCC and I can't get it to miss feed.
