Anyone else out there? I was playing with my SKS today, and a new prescription. The front sight isn't so blurry anymore, but damned if the rear sights aren't blurrier than ever!

Then for the kicked, I wanted to beat traffic so I started shooting really fast, aiming over the sights, just putting the front sight on the target and squeezing as fast as I could keep the sight there.

And it was just as accurate as my slow-fire! When I ignored the rear sights altogether my accuracy sort of improved, the consistency definately did.

I have fairly bad astigmatism and tend to run my contacts a bit on the stronger side for better acuity when shooting. When I shoot the SKS or SMLE (No 1) quickly I don't have problems with the sights but when I am trying to get good groups at 100m I have found the best sight picture by 'looking through' the sights with both eyes open. With that approach the front sight, rear sight and target are all clear.
