Has anyone heard good/bad things about the Swiss mde Astra Arms ar15's Frontier is getting in for $1800?

Frontier mentions that uses a "Unique direct gas operating system eliminates the conventional operating rod normally associated with gas operating weapons"
...so does that mean the Swiss are boasting its not piston operated?
The Swiss mfgr webpage looks cool..as does the quality of the controls; especially compared to those crappy looking AR's that were coming out of England last year.
